The Division of Comprehensive Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Stanford University seeks a board-eligible or board-certified neurologist to join the Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The candidate will have MD degree or equivalent and will be ABPN Board Eligible or Board Certified, and eligible for CA medical license. Fellowship training is desired but not required. A clinician who is able to competently manage a broad array of neurologic conditions and care for patients with complex or multiple neurologic disorders. The candidate should have an interest in teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Responsibilities are expected to include care of general (comprehensive) neurology patients, and teaching of medical students, residents, and clinical fellows. Faculty will work in our hospital and clinics at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto and at South Bay location, depending on clinic needs. While the primary focus will be on clinical general (comprehensive) neurology patients, subspecialty interests can be considered depending on the candidate’s interests and clinical needs at these sites. Opportunities are also available to participate in research, quality improvement, and development of innovative care programs. This is an outpatient role, with no overnight or weekend call requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant should have an MD degree or equivalent, be board-certified or board-eligible (ABPN), and must have or obtain a California medical license.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching students, residents, and fellows. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other departments and disciplines.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have in candidates who have additional experience in general neurology. Fellowship training is not required but subspecialty interests will be considered depending on clinical need.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $251,000 - $269,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $280,000 - $298,000

Clinical Professor: $326,000 - $338,000

 

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
