The Department of Dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Dermatologist to join our team as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator line. This full-time, non-tenure-eligible position offers an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive dermatologic care while contributing to medical education in a dynamic academic environment.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will practice primarily at Stanford General Dermatology Clinic in Emeryville, with potential clinical presence at other East Bay sites including Livermore, San Ramon, Danville, and San Pablo. This position incorporates innovative care delivery models, including virtual visits and asynchronous care platforms, allowing for flexible and comprehensive patient management.
Clinical Responsibilities
The role encompasses primarily outpatient dermatologic care across multiple East Bay locations, with an emphasis on building strong community connections. The position includes a modern component of telemedicine and digital health initiatives, reflecting Stanford's commitment to accessible, cutting-edge patient care. Academic and Teaching Expectations
Clinical teaching is a core requirement of this position. While trainees may not regularly rotate through all clinic sites, the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in periodic didactic lectures and Grand Rounds moderation. The successful candidate will participate in departmental educational initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Dermatology
- California medical licensure
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care
- Strong commitment to medical education
- Experience or interest in innovative care delivery models, including telehealth

Compensation and Benefits
- Expected base pay range: $232,000-$244,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
